Deanna was born in Coos Bay, Oregon and lived in Reedsport, Oregon until second grade. Her family moved to Portland, Oregon her second grade year and she attended Catholic schools and graduated at St. Mary's Academy in Portland, Oregon. She's been playing piano since age 4. Deanna studied private piano lessons for 9 years with an emphasis on classical training.
Deanna received her Associated in Arts and Sciences at Clark College with an engineering focus. She finished at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington with a BA in Fine Art Cum Laude, with a focus on painting and drawing. It was three years later that she returned to Clark College for Dental Hygiene and graduated President's List in 1999. She recorded her freshman release Simplicity while in dental hygiene school with a final recording in 2004.

Deanna joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2005. She married her husband Gary in 2007. She has three children, a 19 year old son and twins that are six. Deanna is also blessed with three step daughters, two teens and a five year old who live in Utah.
She loves to compose piano music. She also loves to hike, paint, knit, travel, play games, and read. She loves to shop at Barnes and Noble, Borders and Old Navy! She loves to go to the beach and take long walks on the waterfront. She also enjoys sharing in her husband's loves of BYU football and golfing.
